Description
Playing games with dice, cards and board games are great for counting, reading, and talking about colours and patterns. Discussions in the game and taking turns is also good experience for social and emotional development. Some great games to play are Snap, Memory, Dominoes, Go Fish, Snakes and Ladders, Twister, Connect 4, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Use playing cards up to 5 to put the correct number of counters on or place all cards up to 5 face down and say 'Ready, set, go!' each player flips over a card and who ever has the highest number gets the keep the card, turn the other back down and play again until all the cards are won.
