Last night Nigel Latta's episode about school was on.  What grabbed my attention the most is a Principal stating that many of the children in his school were arriving with the academic skills of a 3 year old level.

Big credit to the school which said most of the children were up to level by the time they reach 6.  It's still a shame these children are playing catch up instead of starting school ready to go with the basics known.

What's needed is a nation wide program available to all parents once their child turns around 2.5 years old.  Whether it be information packs on activities to do at home, a starter kit with alphabet cards and writing formation chart, colour flash cards, information evenings held in town/school halls or just making them aware of a site like J for Jesse.

This is what drove me to start J for Jesse and this nation wide awareness is my ultimate goal.
